Safe Church Training
Safe Church Training is required every 3 years. The Diocese of Southern Virginia requires people who volunteer, are in charge of activities, or have access to the church building to complete Safe Church Training. There are two levels of training, Universal and Specialized.
Universal Training is a short version for all people with key or key fob access to the building access. This includes members of the Altar Guild, Choir Members, and Disciple’s Dinner/Lunch Volunteers.
If you were NOT able to take the Universal Training course offered on September 6th, we are working with the Diocese to secure a Universal Training session for us in the near future. There must be at least 10 participants for them to consider the request.
Specialized Training is for those on the Vestry, Clergy, Employees, Choir Directors, Program Supervisors and others that direct any activity working with children or adults. This includes those who may go out for the church and interact with children and adults. This also includes Home Visitors (Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Pastoral Care Visitors, etc.).
The diocese is offering Specialized Training on Saturday, October 1st 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m and Sunday, October 2nd 1:00-4:30 p.m via Zoom. You MUST attend both days to be certified. The registration link is below. Each person must log in individually to receive certification.
Please know that we are working very hard to find additional options for parishioners to take these classes. Thank you for your help and understanding. If you have any questions, please contact your Senior Warden, Wanda Vaughan (434) 429-9599.

Epiphany’s beautiful and historic sanctuary will be a stop on this year’s holiday tour. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only showcase our church to the community, but to invite the community in as well.
Volunteers are needed for three categories: Docents, Refreshments, Greeters/Ushers. Volunteers are needed for 2 hour blocks of time: 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm. You may volunteer for more than one category and/or more than one block of time.
Docents: will lead tour members through our beautiful sanctuary while sharing a bit of information about the stained glass windows and history of the church (this information will be provided to you in advance)
Refreshments: will offer tour members a snack and drink after the tour and direct tour members to the restroom as needed
Greeters/Ushers: will welcome members as they enter our church through the Narthex, direct them to the first docent for the beginning of the tour, and direct tour members to refreshments after they complete the tour of our sanctuary.
If you are interested in volunteering, please text or call
