     Safe Church Training

Safe Church Training is required every 3 years. The Diocese of Southern Virginia requires people who volunteer, are in charge of activities, or have access to the church building to complete Safe Church Training. There are two levels of training, Universal and Specialized.

Universal Training is a short version for all people with key or key fob access to the building access. This includes members of the Altar Guild, Choir Members, and Disciple’s Dinner/Lunch Volunteers.

If you were NOT able to take the Universal Training course offered on September 6th, we are working with the Diocese to secure a Universal Training session for us in the near future. There must be at least 10 participants for them to consider the request.

Specialized Training is for those on the Vestry, Clergy, Employees, Choir Directors, Program Supervisors and others that direct any activity working with children or adults. This includes those who may go out for the church and interact with children and adults. This also includes Home Visitors (Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Pastoral Care Visitors, etc.).

The diocese is offering Specialized Training on Saturday, October 1st 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m and Sunday, October 2nd 1:00-4:30 p.m via Zoom. You MUST attend both days to be certified. The registration link is below. Each person must log in individually to receive certification.
