    Memorial Day Weekend Special Event

This Sunday, May 29th after the service we will dedicate the painting Body and Blood by Janet McKenzie in the Gallery.
As you may recall, during the pandemic the vestry fulfilled a long overdue commitment of the congregation to memorialize the late Dr. Keith H. Williams, M.D. who passed away unexpectedly in November 2013. The painting is that memorial and will hang on the wall in the Gallery as you approach the Nave.
Our special guest preacher will be the Rev. Cn. Willis Foster who is the Canon for Diversity for the Diocese. So please make plans to be with us for this important day and event.

    Dear People of Epiphany,

As I hope you've read by now I will be on sabbatical this summer (June, July & August) and the Rev. Jeanine Driscoll will supply for us most Sundays. You may recall that she supplied for us one Sunday last September.
Jeanine is a full-time psychologist in Chapel Hill and also an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of North Carolina. On her website she shares that, "a really important question for any and all of us is "what's my why."' An excellent question to contemplate! Check out her website here if you'd like to know more https://drjeaninedriscoll.com
Other than supplying on Sunday morings Jeanine will be available for pastoral emergencies but will not be in Danville during the week otherwise. If you have a pastoral emergency while I am away please contact Sr. Warden Wanda Vaughan. Wanda's contact info is elsewhere in this eNews. Wanda will then coordinate with Jeanine and put you in touch with her.
You will all be in my prayers this summer and I look forward to seeing you all again the first Sunday in September.

God's peace, blessings & all good,

    Jon+

    Request for Box Fans

Adult Services division of the Danville Department of Social Services (DDSS) is in need of new electric box fans. During the hot and humid summer months, some of their clients rely on fans to circulate air and stay cool. Epiphany would like to continue lending its support to DDSS by asking our members and friends to purchase new electric box fans. Please bring your fans to church and place them in the parlor by Sunday, June 5. If you would like to make a monetary contribution, one of our Outreach shoppers will take care of purchasing fans for you. If you have questions, please text or call Laura Sadler at 434-770-8367. Outreach volunteers will deliver our donated items to Social Services on Monday, June 6 before the scorching heat of summer arrives.
    Thank you for your support.

    Graduates

Please let us know if you have any family members that are graduating this year. Epiphany would like recognize them in our bulletin on the first Sunday of June. You can click the link to fill out the form that is in our eNews, or you can email with your graduates name, relationship to you and any other information. The due date to submit your information is 12:00 noon on June 1, 2022.

    Workday at God’s Storehouse

On Saturday, May 14, the National Association of Letter Carriers held their 30th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.  Over 14,000 pounds of food was collected in our area and donated to God’s Storehouse. Ten volunteers from Epiphany worked four hours Monday, May 16, to sort through four LARGE wooden bins of canned food. A huge thank you to Wayne Alan, Rose Beaver, Ethan Casteel, Liz Everett, Marge Fifield, Carolyn Hasselvander, Katie Petrick, Alison Sibbers, Wanda Vaughan, and Jennifer White for all of their enthusiasm and hard work.

    Fr. Jon Sabbatical

I will be on sabbatical this summer (June, July & August). The Rev. Jeanine Driscoll will supply and you can read more about her elsewhere in this eNews. The wardens and vestry will be in charge while I'm away. Jennifer Hooper will keep things humming in the office.

Clergy sabbaticals are a standard part of clergy Letters of Agreement in the Diocese and an important component to both clergy and congregational wellness.

My sabbatical will be based out of our home in Santa Fe with some travel around the southern Rocky Mountains. The focus of my study will be two of the "Five Diocesan Initiatives for Mission, Vitality and Baptismal Ministry" - #3, Becoming Beloved Community and #5, Evangelism. The list of all five initiatives is here . If you'd like to read Bishop Haynes' address to Annual Council regarding the Five Initiatives that link is here .
If you'd like to watch video of that address you can find it here .

    Blessings,

    Jon+
