Morning Prayer Bulletin for This Sunday

Update re: Positivity Rate and In-Person Worship: As of this writing the “7-day Positivity Rate PCR Only” was 13.4% for Pittsylvania-Danville Health District. This is well above the level at which Bishop Haynes’ Medical Advisory Team stated “ ... in-person worship should not occur.”

As previously announced we are now prerecording the services, which will be available to view on the parish YouTube channel, beginning 5:00pm each Saturday evening. Each Sunday morning at 10:00am this same service will be streamed via Zoom with brief “live” announcements from Fr. Jon. Instructions for logging-in or calling in to Zoom are below.

Thank You!: Our presents have been wrapped, sorted, and delivered to the Danville Department of Social Services for distribution to our foster children. A sincere thank you goes out to every member and friend of Epiphany who participated by purchasing gifts or donating money. Through your generosity, Tyneisha, Amelia, Jesus, Jaden, Zaniah, Jeremiah, and Gabby will know that we were thinking of them and wishing each and everyone a Christmas filled with love and joy.

Diocesan virtual service for Christmas 1: As a gift to the Diocese, the Diocesan Office staff, in conjunction with diocesan liturgists, will be offering worship on Christmas 1, December 27. Our worship service will be offered virtually to the entire diocese and will be accessed via the diocesan websiteYouTube channel and Facebook. It will also be an opportunity for the diocese to worship together during one of the most joyful times of the year. The service recording will be available for on-demand viewing after Dec. 27. O Come Let Us Adore Him!

Prayer Request: Carol Bunton Grant, sister of Bishop Susan Haynes, entered the nearer presence of Jesus on Tuesday, December 8. She died in Meggett, South Carolina. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Carol and keep Bishop Susan and her family in your prayers for comfort and strength.

O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered:
Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Carol,
and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy,
in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Christmas Message from Bishop Haynes: From her home in Williamsburg, Bishop Haynes shares a message of encouragement as we celebrate Advent and Christmas during a time of pandemic.

"We are God's beloved children. He loves us dearly and the birth of the Child - God with us - will happen whether we are in our church buildings or not."

Key Fobs: Recently the computer which controls the programming of the key fob system had to be replaced. This required the reprogramming of all fobs. In this process we have discovered that some fobs which have been reprogrammed are no longer recognized by the system. If this happens to you please contact the office about getting a new fob.

New Mailbox: It is not widely know that Epiphany has a new and secure mailbox. You may drop pledge payments or other “mail” in the box if you wish. The box is located on the wall opposite the intercom call button outside the 115 Jefferson Street entrance.
