eNews For The Week of March 21, 2021

    Bulletin for This Sunday

    Re-Gathering (Again) for In-Person Worship
    Please read carefully

As of Saturday morning (March 20th) the positivity rate locally was 5.0%. Unless we experience a resurgence of the virus we will be able to return to in-person worship beginning Palm Sunday, March 28th. For now the Diocese requires that in-person worship follow the guidelines set last fall. Look for those in the eNews next week.

Palm Sunday (March 28th) & Easter Sunday (April 4th):

A survey was sent to the eNews distribution list on Monday, March 15th asking yes or no about your plans for in-person attendance for these two Sundays. That survey has now closed and your responses recorded.  Thanks to all who responded so promptly as this helps us plan for safe in-person worship. If you receive the eNews but did not respond we had to mark that as a no (not attending). Those members who do not receive the eNews are being called. Online options will be available.

    Palms:

Palms for Palm Sunday may be available as early as Wednesday. A special eNews will go out as soon as they are available for pick-up. Additional information about Palm Sunday will go out with that special eNews.

The second Sunday of Easter (April 11th):

Online only via Zoom or our YouTube channel. This will be a Holy Eucharist service. Fr. Jon will preach & preside for this pre-recorded service but will be away that Sunday.

Beginning the third Sunday of Easter (April 18th) and following:

There will be in-person worship on Sundays (10:00am). There will also be pre-recorded online worship on Zoom at the same time (10:00am) and on our YouTube Channel available beginning at 5:00pm Saturday evening each week. Details about how to attend either in-person or online will be posted weekly. We hope to be able to live-stream services soon.

    The parish office has reopened!

The parish office reopened Monday (3/15/21). Office hours are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Wednesday is the day we pre-record the Sunday online service - we are onsite but generally not available while recording.

For now, if you need to come to the office to see Fr. Jon or another member of the staff please call ahead to arrange a time. If you need to see or speak with Fr. Jon please call him directly at (434) 710-1933. Other members of the staff can be reached by calling (434) 792-4321.

Thank you for your patience and we will keep the parish updated via the eNews as we move back toward pre-pandemic operations.

*The office will be closed the week after Easter (Monday April 5 - Monday April 12) as has been the custom in recent years past. Epiphany follows the Diocesan office schedule.

Annual Parish Meeting Delayed (A reminder): As was recently announced, our 2021 meeting is being delayed due to the pandemic. We will schedule the meeting as soon as the Diocese again allows in-person activity. We all hope this will be very soon. Thank you.

Phone System: The office phone system is over ten years old, on its last leg and not always working properly. A new system will be installed after Easter. Until then please understand that certain system features may not work properly. Please feel free to call Fr. Jon’s mobile number (434) 710-1933 if a call doesn’t go through during office hours or if you suspect your voicemail has not gotten through.

The next installment of Hymn Friday

Epiphany has been blessed to be the site for concert cellist
Cameron Grimes  https://www.camerongrimes.co.uk/  Hymn Friday project.

Prior to the pandemic Cameron’s home was in London and he played throughout Europe. He has been staying with family here in Danville during the pandemic.

Cameron and Pei-Yi have recorded a number of pieces together and some are solos. Each week we’re posting a link to one of the videos posted on Cameron’s facebook page.

You may find all of the recordings on Cameron’s facebook page. Enjoy! Jon+

*Click on the photo below to get the video. It is possible you’ll need to try more than once. As I understand it you do not need to be on facebook yourself in order to see the video.
